Safe Drinking Water & Sanitation (RO Plants)
Delivering community-owned purified drinking water infrastructure to salinity-affected villages.

Program Overview & Methodology
Under our 'Jeevan Amrit Project', CEDRA spearheaded the installation and renovation of RO purification facilities in water-stressed villages of Saurashtra and coastal Gujarat.
Rather than creating dependency, we implement a Community-Based Management Model where nominal water card tariffs fund local operator salaries, filter replacements, and regular water quality testing.
In addition to water plants, our sanitation drives have built toilet blocks in primary schools and trained thousands of children on proper hand hygiene.
Key Accomplishments
Safe Drinking Water & Sanitation (RO Plants)
Delivering sustainable, community-owned Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water filtration facilities and school sanitation infrastructure across salinity-affected coastal and semi-arid rural blocks of Gujarat, in partnership with village panchayats and corporate CSRs including CAIRN India and Neer Amrit.
4 Pillars of Safe Water & Rural Sanitation
Decentralized RO Plants
Industrial grade Reverse Osmosis plants with multi-tier pre-filtration, sand filters, and carbon towers removing heavy metals and total dissolved solids (TDS).
Village Water Committees
Community ownership via local Pani Samitis and trained youth operators, ensuring self-funded maintenance via nominal water tariff cards.
Salinity & Fluorosis Relief
Targeted relief in coastal Saurashtra and semi-arid desert regions where groundwater causes dental and skeletal fluorosis and kidney strain.
School WASH & Hygiene
Clean water pipelines, dedicated toilet blocks in primary schools and Anganwadis, and student handwashing hygiene workshops.
Water & Sanitation Photo Gallery (All 11 Field Photos)
Complete visual record of RO plant facilities, membrane filtration systems, water ATMs, and school hygiene campaigns.

Community RO Water Purification Facility
Centralized Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration plant installed in water-stressed coastal Gujarat under public-private-panchayat partnership.

Village Safe Drinking Water Dispensing Station
Villagers accessing clean, WHO-standard drinking water using smart water ATM recharge cards at nominal maintenance tariffs.

Jeevan Amrit Water Purification Plant Unit
Heavy-duty commercial RO membrane filters and multi-stage sand-carbon filtration assembly inside the village plant room.

Village Water Committee & Panchayat Inspection
Local Panchayat leaders and CEDRA water engineers conducting joint inspection of plant pressure gauges and daily flow logs.

Rural Water Filtration Structure & Plant Canopy
Dedicated civil brickwork canopy sheltering water purification machinery, raw water storage tanks, and safe collection bays.

Decentralized Clean Water Storage Tanks
High-capacity food-grade sanitized storage reservoirs ensuring uninterrupted supply during peak summer demand.

RO Membrane Filters & Quality Testing Instrumentation
Regular testing of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), pH balance, and microbiological safety by CEDRA field quality officers.

Drinking Water Supply for Salinity-Affected Rural Households
Eradicating high fluoride and salinity contamination from groundwater, protecting villagers from fluorosis and joint ailments.

Primary School Sanitation & Clean Drinking Water Drive
Dedicated school RO water connections and hygienic sanitation blocks installed to boost girl student attendance and health.

Handwashing & Hygiene Awareness with School Students
Interactive WASH hygiene sessions educating primary school children on proper 6-step handwashing and water conservation.

Community Water Tariff Card Distribution & Operator Training
Training local village youth as certified plant operators and distributing household water smartcards for transparent operations.
Sponsor or Upgrade a Village Safe Drinking Water Plant
Partner with CEDRA under Schedule VII CSR to establish decentralized RO drinking water plants, solar-powered filtration units, or school sanitation complexes in water-stressed rural habitations of Gujarat.
