Donation Refund & Cancellation Policy
We deeply appreciate your voluntary contributions toward rural development in Gujarat. Here are our guidelines regarding accidental payments, duplicate transactions, and Section 80G tax receipt revocations.
1Voluntary Nature of Donations
Centre for Education Developmental Research and Action (CEDRA) is a non-profit public charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Reg. No. E-4801, Kheda).
Contributions made by individuals and corporations are voluntary philanthropic donations utilized immediately to fund grassroots development programs—such as community RO water plants, women tailoring centers, health clinics, and environmental afforestation. Consequently, donations are generally non-refundable except under the specific circumstances outlined below.
2Refund Eligibility Criteria
CEDRA will review and honor refund requests under the following conditions:
Duplicate Debits
If due to a technical glitch or payment gateway lag, your account or card was debited multiple times for a single donation attempt.
Erroneous Amount Entry
If an inadvertent typographical error resulted in an unintended donation amount (e.g. accidental extra zero added during checkout).
Unauthorized or Fraudulent Transactions
If an unauthorized transaction was made using your card or banking credentials, supported by formal documentation or a dispute report from your issuing bank.
3How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please send a written request by email to info@cedra.in and sanjay@cedra.in within seven (7) calendar days of the transaction date.
- Full Name of the Donor (as entered during donation)
- Email Address and Mobile Number used
- Date and Time of Transaction
- Donation Amount debited (INR)
- Transaction Reference Number / UTR / Order ID
- Reason for requesting the refund (with bank statement screenshot if duplicate debit occurred)
4Section 80G Tax Exemption Certificate Revocation
CEDRA reports all issued 80G certificates to the Income Tax Department of India in Form 10BD. In the event of a refund, the corresponding entry is cancelled in our annual returns. Donors must not claim income tax deductions under Section 80G for any refunded contributions. Claiming tax deductions on refunded amounts constitutes a violation of Indian tax laws.
5Refund Processing Timeline
Once your refund request is received and verified by our accounts department:
- Verification: Our team will confirm the debit in our bank records within 2 to 3 business days.
- Initiation: The refund will be initiated directly through the payment gateway back to the original funding source (credit card, debit card, UPI, or Net Banking).
- Settlement: It typically takes 7 to 10 working days for the refunded amount to reflect in your bank account, depending on your card issuer or banking institution.
Note: Standard third-party payment gateway transaction processing charges (if any) may be deducted from the refunded amount where applicable.
6Recurring Donation Cancellation
If you have set up a recurring monthly donation (e.g. through e-Mandate, standing instructions, or UPI Autopay), you may cancel future debits at any time:
- Directly via your banking or UPI application (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Net Banking e-Mandate management).
- By sending an email to info@cedra.in at least 5 business days before your next scheduled debit date.
7Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a refund after 7 days?
Because donation funds are immediately deployed toward our active field operations (such as purchasing water purification filters or tailoring materials), requests received after 7 days cannot be refunded under normal circumstances.
Can refunds be issued to a different bank account?
For security and anti-money laundering compliance, refunds can only be routed back to the exact payment method and bank account from which the donation originated.
